New Site Officially Done
(August 22, 2003)
The new web site has been live for over a month now, but in all that time I've been working behind the scenes adding additional sections, features, and functionality. And I'm happy to announce it is all finally complete.
The Zombie Horde section is all done, as I announced earlier. So all you members of the Zombie Horde head over there and check out the exclusive content I have posted.
The message boards are live. Things are still getting started over there but it's looking pretty promising. If you've signed up for the fan club (by joining this web site) feel free to log in to the boards and speak your mind! I posted a mini-review of Freddy Vs. Jason the other day. What did YOU think of it?
The Special Features will continue to be updated as I think of more things that I don't have anything else to do with. I have several ideas for some very funny Special Features, so keep checking back.
We've got new merchandise at our CafePress store and more stuff planned. I just have to get all the materials for the designs I have in mind. We also have printable order forms for people who still don't feel comfortable ordering on line.
Lyrics for every Sudden Death song are now in the database and available for view. Just go into the About sections and click on Albums. Pick the album you want and you'll see that the songs listed on that album are clickable. This will take you to a page with all the credits and lyrics for the song!
And what you don't see, behind the scenes I have a very cool administration section of the web site where I can log in and make updates to the site without editing any code. I just fill out a form, that goes to the database, and the site is instantly updated. I also allow all the guests who have signed up for the site to edit their own profile. If you check out the Guest Profile page you'll see that Chris Waffle's nickname is "The Visionary." Chris logged in and changed that himself. And when members of the band log in they can get access not only to their profile, but to the new songs that we have been working on.
We have a form available to the public to add albums to our Funny Music at amazon.com listing on the right. So any artist who has an album for sale at amazon.com can get their album advertised on this site for free!
Sorry to ramble on like this, but I'm pretty proud of the new site. Got any comments about the new site? Head over to the message boards and speak your mind!
And thanks for all the feedback we've gotten on the new site! So far people seem to really like it. It's been a lot of fun putting this site together (and a lot of work) but I think it will all be worth it.
Now, if someone would just book us for another gig...
