I am completely blown away. Two weeks ago when I submitted the album to CDBaby I realized they didn't have Comedy listed as a genre, so I had to list the album under Hip Hop. I was very discouraged by this because I figured there was much more competition on the Hip Hop charts and I thought I didn't stand a chance of making a dent on them.
Friday morning before I left for work on a whim I checked the Top 200 Hip Hop albums on iTunes and saw that Gnome Sane was #72. And we were off.
Then the support came pouring in. People began retweeting my tweets, making posts on Facebook encouraging all their friends to buy my album, and telling me how awesome the album was. Rob Balder went so far as to do a full blog post on Erfworld about it. Reviews on iTunes were stellar and as of this writing I have 47 star ratings, and I think they're all 5-stars.
By mid afternoon Friday my album was in the top 30 on iTunes. Thanks to my awesome fans I have screenshots of the album at its highest position of #28, above Kanye West.
Receipts have starting coming in from people who took part in the rush and while I still don't really know how many albums I sold on Friday I can not begin to tell you how much this means to me.
Thank you all so very much for helping me do something I honestly thought was impossible; something I honestly didn't think was going to work. Thank you all for proving me wrong, for making my album a success, and for making all the work I put into to it pay off. I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you.
