Well I'm back from MarsCon and I'm finally getting caught up with things. I came back to about 1200 emails to deal with, only about 20% of which were spam. For once I wished a bigger percentage of my email was spam, but that's not why I'm posting.
I'm posting because I want to do a quick report on MarsCon. This will just be a quick report because I'm still about 4 days behind with all the regular crap I have to do. So I'm just going to do this as a bulleted list.
• Driving for 42 hours sucks, but being in the car with Shoebox and his wife for 32 of those hours pretty much ensures the trip will not be boring. • For the rest of the drive I listened to The Leviathan Chronicles which is pretty cool. • I had about a half dozen people video tape my set on Friday night. If you are one of those people please email me so we can make arrangements for me to get the footage. • I had one of my best sets ever on Friday night. I was ON. And I tried out a bunch of new stand up material between songs which seemed to go over well. • After my set I did a song with Shoebox, and then after his set me, him, and Luke all performed Konami Code. • Friday night I partied with Party Rob. Saturday I purchased a shirt which said just that. • The Mystery Spatula Theater 11 take on Mission To Mars was VERY funny. • Full band Possible Oscar is awesome. • MC Lars called me up on stage during his set to back him up on Mr. Raven. I had about 15 minutes notice, so I wasn't really prepared. • It was great to finally see Wally Pleasant perform live. • The Spongebob coaster is awesome. • Saturday night I recorded Manic Mondays 200, filmed footage for The Geeks Come Out At Night, and filmed an interview with Rob and Shoebox (aka Baldbox) for The FuMP 13 CD. Yes, I WORKED at MarsCon. • Losing an hour to daylight savings time during a con is stupid. • Between that and changing time zones I was never really sure what time it was. • I helped Carrie debut a new song during her set. • The Dementia Smackdown was fun as always. I think Carrie's take on the Cake Roll was my favorite. • MC Lars gave me another 15 minutes notice to help him out with Space Jam during the Smackdown. This time I went and grabbed my iPod so I could reacquaint myself with the song before going on stage. • I took a ton of pictures Friday and Saturday but none Sunday because my camera's battery was dead. They'll be posted on Flickr in a few days. • For the Smackdown I performed my cover of Domino Death by Tom Smith. • We had to leave right after the Smackdown, so unfortunately we missed the FuMP Sideshow concert.
That about does it. I know I'm forgetting stuff. Everyone else I didn't mention had good sets. There wasn't an off performance all weekend, some of which have already appeared on YouTube, including my Smackdown performance. It was awesome seeing everyone again. Much fun was had.
